Food That Makes Us Feel Good

Feel Good Foods

Yes really. Some foods are actually good for our mental health. No this does not mean that tucking into that fresh cream cake is okay! When we do that, as nice as it may be in the moment, it is soon replaced with that guilt feeling that lingers longer than the satisfied smile that first bite of a sugary treat gives us.

Did You Know?

Around 90% of serotonin production takes place in the gut? Yes really. So looking after it and treating it with respect is all important. Many stomach problems can be attributed to anxiety, stress and depression. It makes so much more sense when you understand there is a physical connection.

Meat..the red Stuff

Red meat is a wonderful source of zinc which is incredibly rich in micronutrients – closely linked to helping with depression and low mood. Low levels of zinc is a factor when it comes to depression. It is definitely something to consider. Obviously, it’s not a cure for depression, but the more we can do to life our mood naturally, either with medication or not, the better. Pack your monthly meat box full of the red stuff!

Vitamin B12

B12 is particularly prevalent in red meat (and other meat products) Checking your intake is particularly useful if you’ve been diagnosed with depression.

Red Wine Makes Us Happy!
